North Coast Stockfeeds (now known as Mi-Feed) was founded over 45 years ago by a local family in Yandina. While originally focused on the supply of hay and chaff to the Sunshine Coast area, it later expanded into mixed grains and bulk feed deliveries.
Local business man and animal nutritionist Bill Barrett took over the company in 1982 and developed and expanded it. Together with business partner Graham Hennessy they pioneered the process of Micronisation in Australia with the installation of the first microniser.
Over time the name North Coast Stockfeeds was only relevant to our local area, so it was time to trade under a broader banner - known as Micronised Feed Solutions.
This year we chose to shorten it just so it wasn't such a mouthful. We now call ourselves Mi-Feed.
We're proud of our name, not only for what it is, but for the 45 years of hard work invested in manufacturing what we believe is the best on the market.
Mi-Feed now manufacture rations for horse, cattle, calf, pig, weaner, dairy cow, goat, hobby farm, poultry, sheep and alpaca.
A second microniser has been installed into the plant at Yandina to enable the company to meet a growing demand for the micronised product, which has developed into the preferred form of stock feed by producers and other manufacturers.
