The Queensland Show jumping scene is certainly well under way! Starting at one of the toughest Shows in South East Queensland, Gympie Show certainly did not disappoint. Strong competition saw the two more experienced horses Excals Casanova and Miss Cosmopolitan jump numerous clean rounds, with Excals Casanova just out of the placing’s. From here we proceeded onto Fraser Coast Show (Maryborough), where the horses held tremendous jumping form. Miss Cosmopolitan didn’t waste anytime in the jump off, jumping a very quick round amongst a strong field to win the D Grade Championship.  Excals Casanova was unfortunate to have to last rail of that class, as he held the quickest time overall, which left him out the placing’s. The last class of day both horses put in a super effort in the C & D grade Speed Championship to place 2nd and 3rd.

Most recently we competed at the very, very wet Maleny Show.  Conditions made it difficult for many horses, however we battled on.  This was the first outing for the two new youngsters in the team, who handled the conditions very well, jumping lovely rounds in the 1 metre class. Despite the conditions, the most experienced horse Excals Casanova stepped up to jump in the main class of the show, the 1.40m. Jumping amongst a field of World Cup horses, Casanova took it in his stride, with just 3 rails down. An outstanding effort on his behalf, despite the wet and boggy jumping conditions.

We are looking forward to the forth coming shows, with all horses jumping outstanding! Improved fitness and good health has allowed my team to develop into an exciting group of competitive showjumpers as I learn the art of managing, training and riding at the highest level.
