As the first season of support from Mi-feed draws to a close, I am excited about our partnership.
Both my horses and I continue to develop and mature, in my quest to become a recognised, established senior show jumping competitor. I believe our association is extremely beneficial to both parties and much more can be achieved.
After an extensive year competing throughout South East Queensland, I made the long haul down to Victoria to compete in the World Cup Show series. I travelled extensively from show to show starting at Wodonga. From here I ventured onto Shepparton, Sale and then back to Sydney International Equestrian Centre where my last show was held. It was a fantastic experience for both Excals Casanova and myself, growing our partnership immensely. Like all athletes, we had our good and not so good days; however we both gained a lot of experience and knowledge. We jumped some large technical tracks throughout our trip, and witnessed Australia’s top senior riders battle it out over some even larger tracks.
I feel very fortunate to have a horse that is very competitive and allows me to gain experience and most importantly enjoy what I’m doing! I received many compliments from fellow riders and other owners on the presentation and performance of Casanova. Hopefully, next year I will be in the position to take a full team of competitive Mi-feed fed horses on this Victorian World Cup tour.
3 weeks into our tour, I ran out of Mi-feed and due to the tyranny of distance, I had to source another feed, and the results were quite amazing! In the last week of our tour Casanova lacked his usual punch and resilience that are his hallmarks, clearly his ration lacked the energy required, and was not equal to that of the Mi-feed diet.
I am looking forward to 2014 with great confidence. I have a superb team of young horses continuously improving in leaps and bounds. I am enjoying a few weeks off over the festive season with friends and family, and I will be back into the full swing of things again soon. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Bright and Prosperous New Year!
Yours Sincerely,
Julia Paulger
